Learn more about the Amazon and the Juma Lodge: a jungle hotel

Ecoturism

Boat tours, hiking, wildlife observation, and tree climbing are among the activities organized by the hotel.

With bungalows built in the treetops, the Juma Amazon Lodge allows travelers to experience an absolute connection with nature. Located in Autazes, approximately three hours from Manaus (AM), this ecolodge organizes guided tours that explore the fauna, flora, flavors, and traditions of the Amazon rainforest.

Canoe trips are among the most popular activities. These trips allow visitors to get close to the incredible igapós (flooded forests). Another highlight is the nighttime boat tour. This experience is ideal for stargazing, listening to the sounds of the forest, and observing animals such as frogs, caimans, and birds.

Specialized guides also lead various types of hikes in the region. Participants learn more about survival in the jungle, Amazonian wildlife, and edible and medicinal plants. There is also a longer route that includes lunch (barbecue cooked over a fire) in the heart of the forest.

Another distinctive feature of the Juma Amazon Lodge is its partnership with Amazon Tree Climbing, a company specializing in recreational tree climbing. They use a system of ropes and pulleys to allow people as young as three years old to climb to the top of the trees, offering a unique perspective on the beauty of the forest.
